Happy GI Holidays

Welcome to Holiday Season! Whether it’s your favorite time of year, or not, it’s full of food! That is a delight for many people, but for those of us with food allergies, sensitivities, and/or celiac disease, it can be more like the nightmare before christmas - spent doubled up in pain, or spending hours on the toilet after becoming the unsuspecting consumer of our trigger food(s). Fortunately, it doesn’t have to be like this. We can not only survive the holidays, but thrive through them! And here are the top three tips I can give you:

  1. Know before you go! Before any event know the food offered and if it will be safe for you to eat or not. And take your own food with you every time so you aren’t caught off-guard and potentially eat something that is unsafe.

  2. When in doubt, keep it out! No moment of eating a food is worth the pain of illness or GI distress, so you can politely decline, say you are following a medical diet guided by your doctor, or just change the subject.

  3. Be your own Gutsy CEO! I created the Gutsy CEO program out of my own experience and dietetic work for people just like you and me. By advocating for you own health you teach others it’s OK to do the same for themself. There is no weakness in saying “no” to food pushers. There is no falseness in saying “no” to feeling miserable later, when they can’t see the fall-out of eating unsafe food. You are strong, resourceful, and living well.

    Gutsy = Being brave and resilient in the face of difficulty or challenge

    C = Connected body

    E = Empowered health

    O = Open-heart living

    And I’m offering the program to you for half off! With incredible bonuses! To support you through the holidays and living well into 2026. Check out the information here.

No matter what, I wish you the best of health in the end of 2025, and through all of 2026!

Best,

Erix
